Hello Guys! What’s up? Welcome to LyFnStyle.
Today I’m going to tell you “How to Do Hair Spa Treatment at Home in 5 Simple Steps”.
In metropolitan cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, etc. pollution like dust, dirt, and daily grime, damage your hair and scalp. Add to this list, the debilitating effects of hair styling tools like blow dryers, hair straighteners, and curling irons, and even hair color.
Your usual shampoo and conditioner routine isn’t enough to replenish the lost moisture and shine of your hair. If your hair is dry, brittle, frizzy, or damaged, a good hair spa treatment is a great way to give your hair the moisture and proper nourishment that it needs.
How to Give Yourself a Hair Spa Treatment at Home in 5 Simple Steps?
Step #1. Massage Your Head With Oil
Oil massage nourishes the hair and stimulates the blood flow to the scalp. You can choose any hair oil of your choice; like olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, etc. All these are great options for hair massage and are easily available in the market.
Use your fingertips or you can also use a scalp massager in a circular motion to gently work the oils into your scalp. Gentle head massage helps in relaxing and reducing stress, which can also be a cause of hair issues such as hair fall.
Tip: Don’t forget to comb your hair first to remove the frizz.
Step #2. Steam Your Hair Either With a Steamer or Towel
The next step is to use steam to make the nutrients from the oil penetrate deep inside the scalp. You can also use a steamer blow the steam to your hair.
Alternatively, you can dip a towel or cotton cloth in warm water and squeeze it to remove excess water, and wrap it around your head. Limit the amount of time to 10-15 minutes to steam your hair properly.
Tip: If you have very dry hair, wait for a little longer (15 to 20 minutes) instead.
Step #3. Shampoo Hair to Wash Out the Oil Using Lukewarm Water
Now, it is time to wash and clean your hair and remove the oil by using any mild shampoo that can cleanse your hair without drying it out. If your hair did not get cleaned well, you can shampoo it again to remove the remaining oil.
Tip: Use lukewarm water to wash your hair. Hot water causes dandruff and itchy scalp; also weakens the roots but it also helps the hair cuticle to be open. After your hair is washed, rinse your hair with cold water. Cold water helps with closing the opened hair cuticle.
Step #4. Deep Conditioning & Nourishing With Hair Spa Cream or A Hair Mask
Choose a deep conditioning hair spa cream or a homemade hair mask with natural ingredients like honey, curd, eggs, banana, or even green tea. Leave this mask on for 15-20 minutes & then wash it off.
Tip: You can boil tea leaves in water and add lemon juice to it to make a homemade conditioner. Keep this solution bottled for an emergency.
Step #5. Final Rinse to Wash The Mask Off
The last step is to rinse your hair with a gentle shampoo. You can use your regular conditioner after shampoo if you feel like softening your hair further.
Tip: Let your hair dry naturally. Do not rub your hair or blow-dry them.
You are now done with your hair spa. You can do it once a week and see the difference. By doing this hair spa, you can restore your hair to its healthy state easily.
