Hello Everyone! Welcome to LyFnStyle.
Today I’m representing you all a whole another level of article on “The Enduring Influence of Srimad Bhagavad Gita”.
If you are a Hindu then you must be very well aware of Bhagavad Gita. Now, if I ask you what is Srimad Bhagavad Gita then what will be your answer?
For most of us, Gita is the discourse given by Shri Krishan to Arjun on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. But was there anyone to write His (Krishan’s) words? NO!
It was actually Sanjay who narrated the witnessed occurrence of a distant battlefield to the blind king Dhritarashtra. Sanjay was known for his infinite sight or “anant-drashti”. So basically, the Gita which we overhear is transmitted by Sanjay to king Dhritarashtra in the comforts of the palace. In short, if you are trying to understand Gita then you’re understanding someone’s understanding shaped by memory, feelings, limited by available facts.
People say that in Gita, you’ll get what you seek. Well, it’s true!
Gita totally focuses on self-realization. Like Arjun was in that war situation where he wanted the solution to his problems, so he deciphered Krishna’s words & found the solution, whereas Sanjay was merely a transmitter. Maybe he didn’t even understand what Krishna was trying to say & what Arjuna was hearing and then king Dhritarashtra was caring only for his children. The thought behind all this is that meanings change over time and context. So, before reading Gita, make your mind clear what it wants?
Self-exploration, Self-examination, Self-realization!
Gita is an epic based on the war fought between the Pandavas and the Kauravas, a war between family and friends. So, it has much to do with relationships & serves better to households than the hermit. Reading Gita helps self-exploration, self-examination, self-realization and, of course, develops a better sense of reality.
What is the Purpose of Life!
This world has no beginning, no end, no value, no purpose, then what is the purpose of life and who gave us this purpose? Who is deciding our goals? It’s us! Every single idea, all the boundaries are established by us, individually and collectively. We draw the boundaries separating friends and enemies depending on our consideration and understanding. Gita helps us understand the purpose of life.
Old Ideas Co-exist with New Ones!
There are many different ideas that come across our minds, ideas amplify from time to time; old ideas, new ideas, contradictory ideas. But in India, because of its culture and Vedic ideas, new ideas do not suppress old ones but old ones co-exist with new ones.
In Hindu temples, when you see God, when you look into their eyes, you’ll feel that they are looking at you at the same time with their large unblinking eyes. Isn’t it magnificent? That look, that gaze gives me an unexplanatory feeling that in this life, every relationship is two-way.
